Brand loyalty?

I just heard on Lou Dobbs (CNN) that Daimler Chrysler has instituted a policy that employees may no longer park cars manufactured by competitors in the company parking lot. Those that do will have their cars towed at an expense of $200.00.

Pity the guy who has a loaner/rental that just happens not to be a Daimler Chrysler model while his car is in the shop. What about the gal who only recently started work there who has some other manufacturer's product in her garage? Even with the substantial employee discount, not everyone can run out and buy a new car.

Some rules are just plain stupid. As Seinfeld used to say: who was the marketing genius who came up with that idea?!
