More criminal incompetence

Hurricane Katrina: Why is the Red Cross not in New Orleans?

• Acess to New Orleans is controlled by the National Guard and local authorities and while we are in constant contact with them, we simply cannot enter New Orleans against their orders.
• The state Homeland Security Department had requested--and continues to request--that the American Red Cross not come back into New Orleans following the hurricane. Our presence would keep people from evacuating and encourage others to come into the city.

Okay, this is just plain criminal. The DHS is preventing the Red Cross from providing aid to New Orleans!? People are dying because of lack of food and water and the clown show in DC is issuing orders that the Red Cross not enter the city!?

Fox News was reporting that the National Guard was also preventing the people at the Convention Center from exiting the city on foot. Watch the video. Shepard Smith and Geraldo (ugh) are practically screaming at Hannity that the situation is beyond f***ed up.

I don't know about you, but it sure seems to me as if DHS and FEMA are manufacturing a crisis. Whether it is intentional or simply criminal negligence/incompetence, I hold them responsible for the deaths that occurred at the Convention Center.

Brown and Chertoff should be fired, and then tried for manslaughter. This is simply not right.
